Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and coach AI teams in agile practices. Remove impediments, track team metrics, collaborate with Product Owners on backlog prioritization, drive continuous improvement, and coordinate with other Scrum Masters to manage dependencies across AI projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Guide and coach AI teams in agile principles, promoting self-organization and accountability.
- Act as a servant leader and coach to the development team, product owners, and stakeholders.
- Identify and remove impediments that hinder the team's progress or performance.
- Track and manage team performance metrics (velocity, burndown, etc.), providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure a well-groomed, prioritized backlog.
- Drive continuous improvement across the team through retrospectives and data-driven feedback loops.
- Foster a culture of innovation, transparency, and ownership within AI-focused projects.
- Support the adoption and evolution of agile frameworks tailored to the unique needs of AI development (e.g., research spikes, model training delays, experimental feedback loops).
- Coordinate with other Scrum Masters and agile teams across the organization to ensure alignment and dependencies are managed.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in agile software development environments.
- Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
- Experience working with cross-functional tech teams, preferably in AI/ML or data science-focused environments.
- Excellent facilitation, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with minimal supervision.
- Experience using agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps).
Preferred Qualifications
- Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM I/II, SAFe SM, etc.).
- Prior experience working in AI, machine learning, or research-heavy product teams.
- Familiarity with the AI development lifecycle (data pipelines, model experimentation, training, evaluation, deployment).
- Background in software engineering, data science, or related technical field is a plus.
