JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Associate, Corporate Communications supports the Group Communications team in executing the company’s communications strategy, managing media relations, and safeguarding brand reputation. The role involves content development, crisis communication support, media monitoring, and digital engagement.

What You’ll Do:

Corporate Communications Management

Support department and leadership to implement activities listed in the annual communications and media engagement plan. The annual communications plan is to be proactively maintained to support business development, strategies, goals, and objectives, as well as detailing tactical activities with impactful action plans to protect and promote the correct brand positioning.

Crisis Response & Issues Management (+ Business Continuity Management)

Supporting role in crisis response & issues management activities, working closely with related stakeholders to ensure strategic and positive outcomes to safeguard and enhance the company’s brand, image, and reputation.

Daily Media Monitoring

Oversee daily media monitoring function and provide daily updates to management as and when required. Proactively engage with monitoring agencies to ensure timely and accurate details in each report. Maintain proper archiving of reports for posterity and accurate positive news analysis

Corporate Media Relations Management

Support relationship management and enhance relationships with the media through impactful activities such as media engagements and briefing sessions, exclusive interviews, appreciation events, festive engagements, and the like to strategically maintain and enhance media relations. Involved in providing advisory and support to internal stakeholders and project teams on media related matters.

Media & External Communications Content Development & Release

Drafting and distribution of press releases, branded content, and other external communications content. Tasks include drafting, version control management, fact checking and inter-department coordination, as well as translations. Also involved in drafting supporting documents (i.e., FAQs, talking points) for stakeholder engagement events, critical decision making and management responses.

Group Corporate Messaging, Editorial & Publications Support

Together with communication team members, own and craft communications approach, draft editorial and high-quality publications for management approved projects (e.g. anti-piracy, annual report, quarterly financial releases), including approach for KOL (i.e., Thought leadership articles, Panel Sessions, Keynote Speeches for Management, etc.).

Support & Execute Corporate Announcements

Process announcement requests from across the Company. Involved in the production of content to support all internal communications channels and work together with other units to ensure message alignment and content harmonisation. Proper archive management for posterity.

Digital Communications – Website & Social Platforms

Support team in managing content on relevant digital platforms, primarily, portal, and social media, ensuring content is developed to project the brand in the right manner. Ensure activities are aligned with overall corporate communications strategies.

Thought Leadership for Appointed Spokesperson(s)

Source and evaluate thought leadership platform opportunities for company’s appointed spokespersons. Assist in editing materials for thought leadership platform opportunities eg presentation decks, speeches, bio, editorial articles, etc. Consolidate, evaluate and edit award submissions and submit company’s nominations to the award organisers.

REQUIREMENTS:

Who You Are:

  • Enjoys stakeholder management and builds positive working relationship. Work closely with management to promote consistent messaging for diverse range of audiences, maintaining positive relationships with media and other key stakeholders, as well as lead efforts to elevate brand reputation, amongst others

  • Excited and passionate in communications. Scope includes corporate communications related activities for the Group, its brands, and its senior management

  • Ready for active crisis communications management. Support activities managed by the department is to ensure reputational risk is proactively identified, mitigated and addressed to always safeguard the brand image and reputation.

  • Proficient in written and spoken language. Possess good knowledge of the media landscape, organisational skills, language proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia, relevant experience in developing factsheets/publications to support/ organise stakeholder engagement events/ programmes, experience in media and capable of managing multiple tasks/projects under minimal supervision

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field. Candidates with degrees in other fields but relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in corporate communications, public relations, event planning, and/or project management.
