What You'll Be Up To:
- Revenue Recognition Support: Assist in ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards. Help maintain comprehensive documentation for revenue transactions.
- Financial Reporting Assistance: Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports, forecasts, and global revenue accounting close activities. Contribute to ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Trend Analysis: Assist in analyzing revenue trends and variances, providing initial insights and support to senior accountants for management reporting.
- Revenue Allocation Analysis: Support the analysis of historical sales activities to aid in the correct allocation of revenue in multiple-element arrangements.
- Management Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of management reports and presentations, ensuring data accuracy and clarity.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Help resolve billing discrepancies by working closely with other stakeholders. Assist in identifying and suggesting improvements to streamline processes.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within revenue operations and assist in implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Audit Support: Provide necessary documentation and explanations related to revenue processes to support both external and internal audits.
- Financial Systems Utilization: Utilize financial systems and software tools to support revenue accounting functions. Assist in optimizing these tools for better efficiency.
- System Integration: Assist in the implementation and integration of new systems related to revenue operations, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption.
- Project Assistance: Participate in miscellaneous projects as needed to support the revenue operations team, including user acceptance testing (UAT) and cross-functional projects.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other teams regarding revenue-related inquiries and issues, ensuring clear communication and effective resolution.
This role provides a foundational platform for learning and growth within the finance department, offering hands-on experience in various aspects of revenue accounting and operations.
On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
- 1-2+ years of progressive experience in the Accounting industry, preferably (but not required!) with a multinational, Audit Firm and/or BPO/Shared Services Company
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines while managing multiple tasks.
- Confidence in your ability to communicate (in English) both orally and written.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and drive process improvements.
- You are an independent learner, highly proactive, and organized. You have a very strong positive work ethic and possess a "get-things-done" attitude.
- Appreciate the need to see the bigger picture but are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and dig into the detail.
- Building strong relationships comes naturally to you and you enjoy interacting with stakeholders across the organization through a variety of mediums.
Highly valued (but not required!)
- Revenue Accounting experience.
- Basic knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
- Experience with Oracle and/or RevPro.
- You have a CPA.
