About the role
A Red Team intern at Cloudflare will have the unique opportunity to participate in the development of an adversarial emulation program and capabilities. This program and capabilities sole purpose is to help gauge the effectiveness of Cloudflare's people, processes and technologies in use to drive continuous improvements into the security posture of Cloudflare by thinking and acting as an adversary would.

The ideal summer intern is passionate about making the Internet a better place. You will work with strong engineers. You will push code this summer that touches hundreds of millions of web surfers. We like to get things done, so we are looking for interns who are curious and can take on and complete projects. This is a great opportunity for engineers that want to learn to develop at Internet scale.
What would you do as a Cloudflare intern?
- Ship and deliver projects over 12-16 weeks with autonomy and support.
- Work cross-functionally with various teams.
- Be assigned a mentor to guide you through the internship and help with career goals.
- Build your network across the company through our various in and out of office socials, networking programs, Employee Resource Group (ERG) programs, and Activity Groups (Cat or dog lovers, we've got communities for you! @Catflare @Doggos).
- Present your project to the entire company at the end of the internship.

What You'll Do
You will be expected to be a contributing member of the Red Team within the Cloudflare security organization. Participation in activities around developing and driving comprehensive red team strategies, roadmaps, innovation, resourcing, and budgeting aligned with Cloudflare's Security goals and objectives. One of the key roles of the red team is to partner with Security, IT and Engineering leadership to set and execute on Red team goals and objectives. You will also have the opportunity to track industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the program remains innovative and effective.

- Knowledge and desire to learn more about adversary techniques and tooling
- Knowledge and desire to learn more about developing Red Team/Purple Team Scenarios
- Knowledge and desire to learn more about vulnerabilities and configurations in the following areas:
- MacOS/Linux(server and desktop)
- Cloud Systems(GGP/Azure/AD)
- Software Development and distribution
- Web Applications/API's
- Knowledge and experience in the physical security domain
- Experience developing and complying with policies, standards, and processes.
- Programming/Scripting experience will be helpful
- Ability to switch rapidly and refocus between task
