We are looking for a highly motivated individual with exceptional talent ready to join the Kepware Development team in Pune focused on our best-in-class industrial automation products. As a specialist quality engineer, you will be a key member of our Pune new feature development team.
As a specialist quality engineer, you are trusted to develop specific pieces of automation with minimal oversight. Your skills are growing and progressing to the point where you are able to lead junior staff that are working with you. Your passion for software development, automation and testing will ensure we are using modern techniques, tools, and best practices.

You are striving to continuously improve your technical skills and industry knowledge by studying software and automation design and implementation techniques, state-of-the-art tools, and participating in educational opportunities.
You are excited to participate at every phase of the Agile software development methodology and are willing to take on challenging problems. You have a strong understanding of Agile principles and processes, test driven development, automated testing, and continuous integration.
Day-To-Day:
You will be part of a fast-moving, responsive team using Agile development processes to create world class software products which will bring value to our customers. You will collaborate with other team members in Pune and in the US as well as product owners in the design, implementation, and testing of product features. You will work collaboratively with developers, QA, and business representatives to develop solutions that meet market needs in an Agile environment. Though primarily a software quality function, you recognize that it is teams that create software and are committed to collaborating with your team to ensure that all definitions of done are achieved, including functional and non-functional requirements, automation, security, and DevOps aspects.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
- Maintaining and improving existing test automation system frameworks and tests, developing new tests, identifying and implementing tools that enhance our coverage.
- Uses and promotes modern testing principles and best practices to design tests that validate customer requirements
- Understands and decomposes test requirements
- Use of containers (docker) and container orchestration (docker-compose, Kubernetes)
- Modern CI/CD pipeline architecture
- Test Driven Development methodologies and frameworks
- REST API open standards (Swagger, OpenAPI, etc.)
Preferred Experience:
- Working with Industrial Automation and Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) spaces and products
- Using data-driven metrics to help drive improvements in test automation for new product development and maintenance.
- Working with network protocols, including TCP/IP, UDP, and SOAP
- Working on and with agile teams
- Testing software for both Windows and Linux
- Infrastructure as code (experience with tooling)
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field
- 3+ years’ experience in software development
- In-depth understanding of testing methodologies including unit, integration, functional, UAT, interoperability, scalability, usability, performance, and security test design
- Intermediate knowledge of the following technologies:
- Languages: C# or Java required; C, C++ and scripting languages such as Python desired
- Software Tools: Issue Tracking software and Unit Testing Frameworks, Preferred software tools include Visual Studio, GitLab, JIRA
- Excellent troubleshooting skills. Able to analyze large-scale, complex systems incorporating application software and 3rd party libraries and determine root cause
- An understanding of Agile principles, Agile processes, test driven development, and continuous integration
