Your Role
As a Gensler Project Director, you have a successful track record of managing all phases of architecture projects and will have overall project responsibility for client satisfaction, quality control and financial performance. You will deploy resources to ensure that the work process flows smoothly and act as the primary liaison between the team and client. What You Will Do
Implement and oversee multiple, largescale and highly complex project (s), guiding multidisciplinary teams and ensuring alignment on project objectives, scope, schedule, and technical execution.
Direct comprehensive project planning for high value, multiphase developments, proactively forecasting resources, mitigating risks, and orchestrating coordination across numerous consultants and contractors.
Develop sophisticated project proposals for complex environments, driving contract negotiations that balance design ambition, commercial realities, and long-term client partnership.
Ensure rigorous financial stewardship across large, multi-year projects, overseeing fee performance, forecasting, change management, and project economics to safeguard profitability and operational excellence.
Lead the full end to end lifecycle of highly technical architectural programs, from early concept strategy through construction execution, commissioning, turnover, and post-occupancy refinement.
Mentor and develop project team leads, strengthening project delivery capabilities and building succession pipelines within the studio.
Promote innovative practices such as sustainable strategies, digital delivery tools, and advanced project management methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field
20+ years of related design project management experience on a range of architecture projects. Ideally should also have experience leading projects greater than 2 million sq meter commercial projects.
Professional license or certification preferred
LEED accreditation preferred
Experience negotiating project scope, fees, managing project financial performance, and ensuring fiscal responsibility for projects
Experience with the full project lifecycle, through post-occupancy
Knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures
Significant technical understanding of architectural design,
Experience with project management software, such as MS Project, a plus
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
