Job Overview
PitchBook's Product Manager II works collaboratively with key stakeholders and project teams to execute on the department's product roadmap. This role plays an active role in defining and prioritizing our roadmap. The Product Manager II also mentors new and junior Product Managers on PitchBook's product and Product Management processes at PitchBook.
Team Overview
The Data Technology team within PitchBook's Product organization develops solutions to support and accelerate our data operations processes. This domain impacts core workflows of data capture, ingestion, and hygiene across our public equity datasets. This role works on our Public Equity Data Collection Technology team, closely integrated with Engineering and Product Management to ensure we are delivering against our Product Roadmap. This team collects and manages Public Equity datapoints from a variety of sources and supports a large team of Data Operations researchers that use these work-flow tools to complete their work assignments.
Outline of Duties and Responsibilities

  • Validate client needs, pain points, and business opportunities through ongoing user and market research.


  • Be a SME for your product area(s) and resource for team members across PitchBook.


  • Actively define product roadmap priorities across new opportunities, scaling initiatives, and user needs


  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders and project teams to execute your product roadmap.


  • Create detailed functional specifications from prioritized requirements.


  • Communicate requirements and technical details to stakeholders, including engineering teams.


  • Continuously improve our external and internal deliverables and operational processes.


  • Establish project goals, measure your business impact and identify additional opportunities for success.


  • Give compelling presentations to stakeholders on projects and vision.


  • Be a resource for junior team members on the Product Management process.


  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors.


  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested.


Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Finance, Economics, or related field.


  • 2+ years of product management experience. 3+ years in Product adjacent roles (BA, Product Owner)


  • Bias for action and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what is necessary to meet team goals.


  • Experience gathering customer-centric requirements and writing functional specification documents.


  • Superior attention to detail including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong audience awareness.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with internal systems, teams, workflow tools, and operational objectives


  • Experience with Public Equity datasets


  • Understanding of Data Pipelines and data products


  • Demonstrate application of artificial intelligence/machine learning solutions to improve process efficiency This includes knowledge of OCR, Classifier training, and Prompt Engineering


  • Delivered insights to teams from user research


Working Conditions The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
