Principal Hybrid Cloud Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Principal Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in Terraform, Ansible, and Amazon Web Services (AWS)—particularly in the areas of compute and storage services. In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable cloud infrastructure, drive automation initiatives, and serve as a strategic advisor for cloud architecture decisions. This is a senior technical role requiring both individual contribution and leadership across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native infrastructure solutions using AWS services (EC2, Lambda, EBS, S3, EFS, etc.).
• Lead architectural discussions and decisions for high-availability, scalable, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure.
• Provide deep technical expertise in AWS compute and storage services and ensure best practices are applied.
• Work with the global Cloud organization to develop and maintain Terraform modules to provision and manage cloud infrastructure.
• Build and optimize Ansible playbooks for configuration management, provisioning, and orchestration as needed
• Collaborate with DevOps and application teams to deliver resilient environments across dev, staging, and production.
• Implement infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and logging strategies to ensure performance and availability.
• Troubleshoot cloud-based systems and infrastructure-related issues in real-time.
• Ensure security controls and IAM policies are implemented across compute and storage services.
• Automate compliance checks and apply best practices around encryption, backup, and resource policies.
• Analyze and optimize AWS compute and storage usage for performance and cost-efficiency.
• Recommend and implement storage tiering, auto-scaling, and lifecycle policies.

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of experience working on cloud and infrastructure initiatives.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including EC2, Auto Scaling, Lambda, S3, EBS, EFS, and related services.
• Expert-level experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.
• Solid experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, or similar).
• Experience integrating IaC and automation into CI/CD workflows.
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud cost management.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments or multi-cloud strategies.
