Principal Data Engineer 
Location: Pune
Experience Range: 12+ years

Role Overview:
The Principal Data Engineer will lead the technical strategy and architecture for a large-scale enterprise data engineering program. This role provides end-to-end solution leadership, establishes engineering standards, and drives the implementation of scalable, high-performing data platforms. The Principal Engineer will guide Leads, Senior Engineers, and QA teams while partnering with enterprise architecture and product stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
• Own architecture, solution design, and engineering governance for the data platform
• Define best practices for data modeling, orchestration, performance tuning, and code quality
• Mentor Lead Engineers and oversee design reviews, technical decisions, and issue resolution
• Collaborate with enterprise architects to refine requirements and define technical roadmaps
• Lead PoCs, evaluate emerging technologies, and introduce innovative engineering patterns
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and compliance with enterprise standards

Required Skills:
• 12+ years in Data Engineering and distributed data platforms
• Deep experience with Spark (Scala/Python/Java), Hadoop ecosystem, and cloud data environments
• Expertise in Data Warehouse/Lakehouse design at enterprise scale
• Strong SQL, data modeling, and performance optimization capabilities
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
