The Principal, Architecture role involves developing a technology strategy, maintaining enterprise architecture, collaborating on technology investments, and communicating best practices across teams.
Job Purpose and Impact
This role is part of the Global Enterprise Architecture team and is accountable for delivering a technology strategy for one or more Lines of Business (LOB) or Technology Domains (TD) that aligns with the overall Enterprise Architecture (EA) Technology Strategy. This role ensures that the solutions delivered by the delivery teams are in sync with the tailored technology strategies developed by EA. This role will create a view of the current state technology landscape, identify and address technology gaps by proposing new technologies, and develop a target state technology landscape that aligns with the strategic goals of the LOB or TD.
Key Accountabilities
- Collaborates with Digital Technology & Data (DT&D) leadership in the design and development of the strategic direction and vision for DT&D and Architecture.
- Develops and maintains the DT&D enterprise architecture in alignment with the overall DT&D vision, supporting the strategic needs of the business.
- Creates and implements a high-level roadmap to guide and shape the delivery of new DT&D assets and migration of existing assets towards the enterprise application architecture.
- Develops and establishes standards and polices for DT&D assets and collaborates with business and DT&D teams to inventory and classify existing DT&D assets.
- Collaborates across LOB's and TDs to identify opportunities to leverage common solutions and extend the adoption of standards.
- Facilitates the communication of architecture best practices throughout the architecture community and the DT&D organization by participating in leadership forums and architecture councils.
- Uses technology knowledge to anticipate and understand the implications of the latest technologies to communicate and evangelize them to appropriate audiences and to integrate these technologies appropriately into products and programs.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, IT, or related field with 8-10 years in enterprise architecture, focusing on large-scale IT projects.
- Proficient in middleware and integrations development, software development, and architecture modeling tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Kong, Apigee, IBM MQ Series, TIBCO, Informatica)
- Ability to analyze industry trends, business opportunities, and articulate long-term visions; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of application and data integration, including various integration patterns (batch, real-time, ETL, EDI, messaging, streaming).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in information and communications technology and minimum of 10 years of experience with diverse operations, development and business roles
- Prior experience as an Enterprise Architect within the CPG sector or similar industries is highly desirable
