Role Summary

The SSL/TLS Pre‑Sales Specialist is responsible for supporting sales and customer‑facing teams by providing deep technical expertise in digital certificates, SSL/TLS encryption, certificate lifecycle management (CLM), and secure digital identity solutions. The role involves engaging with customers, understanding their requirements, designing SSL/TLS solutions, and demonstrating how certificate‑based security strengthens their IT and cybersecurity posture.

Key Responsibilities1. Pre‑Sales Technical Engagement
  • Partner with sales teams to qualify customer needs and propose appropriate SSL/TLS and certificate management solutions.

  • Deliver product presentations, demos, and technical workshops to customers.

  • Explain SSL/TLS concepts, certificate lifecycle workflows, automation options, and best practices.

2. Solution Design & Architecture
  • Design secure and scalable SSL/TLS deployment architectures, including certificate issuance, renewal, automation, and trust store management.

  • Recommend certificate automation using ACME/SCEP/EST protocols.

  • Provide guidance on certificate policies, cryptographic standards, and CA hierarchy options.

3. RFP/RFI & Technical Documentation
  • Prepare technical sections of proposals, RFP/RFI responses, and solution design documents.

  • Develop technical diagrams, architectural overviews, and deployment strategies.

4. Demonstrations & Proof‑of‑Concept (PoC)
  • Conduct PoCs in customer environments to showcase certificate automation, issuance workflows, and integrations.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during evaluation cycles.

5. Customer Requirement Gathering
  • Engage with IT, Network, Security, Cloud, and Compliance teams to understand certificate usage across web servers, load balancers, endpoints, and applications.

  • Identify gaps in certificate management and recommend modernization strategies.

6. Collaboration & Internal Support
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to relay customer feedback.

  • Create reusable pre‑sales assets (presentations, deployment guides, demo environments).

  • Enable internal teams and partners on SSL/TLS and certificate solutions.
