Job Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Finance team. This role will process US and international payrolls, contractor invoices and expenses, reimbursements, month-end close and other accounting tasks. The Payroll Accountant will work cross-functionally with Accounting and HR.
What You Will Do:
Manage and process payrolls for a global organization: Process semi-monthly US and Canada semi-monthly payrolls and monthly international payrolls in Germany, India, Canada, Ireland and the UK. Maintain proper employment & banking details in relevant systems.
Ensure all invoices are accurately processed and timely paid for 200+ contractors: Process invoices in BILL.com and prepare external wire transfers for countries not supported. Resolve payment issues with Bill.com and banks.
Process employee and contractor expense reimbursements: Audit expense reports to ensure compliance with travel and expense policies.
Coordinate with payroll provider to resolve all US payroll-related tax notices: Register withholding and unemployment insurance accounts in new US jurisdictions as required.
Communicate expense & payroll matters with employees, contractors, and managers: Manage new-hire training documentation.
Record journal entries for payroll-related cash transactions and prepare payroll-related accruals and balance sheet reconciliations as part of monthly close.
Support Accounting Manager and Finance Team with projects and analyses as required.
What You Have Done:
2-5 years related experience processing payroll and accounts payable
Knowledge of payroll functions including preparation and internal controls
Understanding of generally accepted accounting principle (GAAP)
Attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
Superior oral and written communications skills
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines consistently
Familiarity with MS Office and Google Workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Docs)
What Will Make You Stand Out:
Experience with two or more of the following: Paylocity, Bill.com, Expensify, Intacct, HiBob, and Deel.
Payroll experience in Ireland, Germany, India, Canada and the UK
