Support PAX E700 POS hardware testing and integration for a React Native POS rollout. Configure, test, and troubleshoot the app on PAX E700; integrate and validate peripherals (serial, cash drawer, barcode, printer, EMV); handle device provisioning, connectivity (WiFi/Ethernet/Cellular), firmware issues, and fallback to legacy TSYS; collaborate with QA, DevOps, and client teams and produce device setup and deployment artifacts.
We’re looking for an experienced E700 Engineer with deep hands-on experience working with Android-based POS terminals, ideally PAX E700. This role is responsible for supporting device-specific testing, integrating with hardware peripherals, and resolving any low-level issues encountered on the PAX platform as part of a React Native POS solution rollout.
Key Responsibilities:- Configure, test, and troubleshoot the React Native app on PAX E700 hardware.
- Work with serial interfaces, cash drawer APIs, barcode scanner, printer modules, and EMV card readers.
- Support peripheral discovery, device provisioning, and connectivity validation (WiFi, Ethernet, Cellular).
- Reproduce and debug device-level issues across firmware versions.
- Validate fallback behavior to legacy TSYS POS.
- Collaborate with QA and development teams to support real-device usability testing and certification.
- Provide input on device setup instructions, logs, and deployment procedures.
- 3+ years of experience working with Android-based embedded or POS hardware.
- Experience with PAX E700 or similar smart POS terminals (Sunmi, Clover, etc.).
- Familiarity with PAX SDKs, TMS tools, or Android logcat/debugging tools.
- Understanding of React Native apps running on embedded Android.
- Strong troubleshooting skills around device provisioning, drivers, and peripheral connectivity
- Exposure to payment integrations (e.g., TSYS, Tetra, Ingenico, etc.).
- Experience setting up secure testing environments for device labs.
- Comfort working closely with QA, DevOps, and client infra teams
