Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for an OSS Architect, ideally a specialist in Unix, Vmware and enterprise class monitoring applications who is interested in working in a dynamic team to help develop and support products, services and applications using current and emerging technologies. The OSS Architect will deliver projects that conform to requirements of the NS domain. This individual will be focused on the staging, implementation and operationalization of Voice and data based monitoring and reporting solutions for the financial services industry with an emphasis on integration with Trader Voice technology but also expanding to Third-Party / partners voice applications (SIP telephony application servers, SIP recording, security, etc.).

He / She will be responsible for both designing software solutions that can be deployed in a Data Center / Co-Lo site and potentially securely and 7x24 operational support of OSS related hardware and software. Responsibilities include applying best practices for systems design and operational support (adhering to industry trends and establishment of IPC standards), long term strategic planning for evolutionary development, integration to support systems and oversight of other aspects including security, resiliency, scaling, performances as well as vendor engagement. He / She must have a strong understanding of data and voice services including deep knowledge of the enabling technologies and ability to conceive, build and operationalize technology driven solutions. The candidate also must possess a high level of skills deploying and supporting VMWare ESXi and VCenter. Optional experience with Dell hardware is a plus. Focus is on SIP application servers and SBC but expanding to any Third-Party SIP applications/services irrespective of whether provided by IPC or partners.

Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary. This role will require the candidate to be constantly learning new technologies while handling day to day issues.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy and operationalize event monitoring infrastructure which includes the following:
   o Netcool 8
   o HP tool Suite which includes HPNetwork Node Manager 10.3 and HP Network Automation 10.3
   o InfoVista customer reporting solution
   o VMWare and Redhat 5,6,7 administration
• Dell Hardware maintenance which includes R Series servers as well as ISCSI SAN infrastructure utilizing MD3200i raid storage
• Develop full understanding of the IPC products (ie. Unigy, Connexus, Direct Connect, EVS) and technology solutions (XOP, Globility, Genband, etc.) for the purpose of end-to-end design.
• Understanding of basic security policy utilizing LDAP and Cisco ACS as cornerstone authentication/authorization products
• Support VoIP / SIP integration with customers (SBC/MGW) and partners’ voice solutions.
• Support operations centers (GSOC, NS) when issues arrive with regards to the OSS tool suites.

Experience and Skills Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of Redhat ES 5, 6, 7 which includes the use of LVM, Yum and scripting tools
• Strong understanding of one or more of the following applications:
   o HPNA
   o HPNNMi
   o Cisco ACS
   o LDAP
   o InfoVista
   o Netcool
   o Splunk and syslog technologies
• Excellent technical design skills related to VoIP (VoIP, SIP, PSTN, etc), including IOT & troubleshooting
• In-depth technical design of VoIP solutions and best practices
• Strong development skills utilizing one or more of the following:
   o Perl
   o PHP
   o Javascript
   o Java (but this expertise can be developed in house)
   o Other developmental languages are a plus
• Good understanding of API calls using REST and other web enabled technologies
• Good written and verbal skills
• Strong documentation, project management and analytic skills
• Strong team player who always puts the needs of the business first
• Highly organized and able to work on multiple projects at-once

Behavioral Characteristics:

• Minimum 3 years of experience is required
• Team player, able to work effectively across the organization, but show certain level of autonomy
• Ability to work a flexible schedule at times. Some weekends and some nights may be necessary
• Able to work with operational teams in different regions(EMEA, APAC, NAM)
• Ability to translate technical concepts into understandable customer-friendly language
• Self-starter and proactive with strong sense of urgency
• Problem solver
• Experience working in a 7x24 environment
