Role Description
Investment Banking Capital Markets (IBCM) comprises of regional and industry-focused coverage teams, co-led from the bank’s hubs in Europe and Asia Pacific, that ensure the delivery of the entire range of financial products and services to the bank’s clients. Primarily comprises working on origination and execution of IBCM transactions (capital raising, M&A, corporate restructurings, Ratings) as part of sector / country coverage team. The various desks being Investment Banking Coverage and M&A (IBC) and Capital Markets (CM), Strategic Equities Transaction Group (SETG) and Business Management & Control.
SETG is a private side equity structuring group that specializes in designing and delivering bespoke, tailored solutions to Corporates, Financial Institutions, Sponsors,, HNWIs, and SWFs. The business originates strategic transactions for risk books in EMEA, with a focus on financing and derivatives.
Our products span across the equity life cycle:
- Margin loan and/or collar financing to finance acquisition of shares or leverage an existing position
- Structured equity derivatives solutions to enhance client’s acquisition of shares, hedging, monetization / disposal of equity holdings and management of market risk exposure
- Advising clients on their equity-linked issuances (convertible and exchangeable bonds)

Your key responsibilities
- Work with senior bankers on the analysis and development of transaction ideas for discussion with clients
- Support origination, execution and ongoing management of structured share backed financing, corporate equity derivative and equity-linked transactions
- Establish and develop network and dialogues with internal stakeholders, from coverage to trading to infrastructure support functions
- Participation in marketing efforts, assisting in preparation of client presentations, term sheets, and pitches
- Support in all facets of trade execution for structured deals
- Transaction coordination support – both internally as well as with clients / 3rd parties (other banks, law firms, auditors etc.)
Your skills and experience
- Desired background: MBA Finance / CAs with 4-5 years’ experience in broader financing roles
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial statements and accounting concepts with ability to analyze financial results
- Knowledge of derivatives or equity-linked technical pricings and valuations methods
- Extremely strong written and verbal communication skills
- Individual with commitment and motivation for self-development and growth
- Desire to work in a fast paced, challenging environment, extremely diligent and hardworking to efficiently manage deadlines across multiple transactions
- Excellent skills in using MS Office (PowerPoint and Excel) and knowledge of Bloomberg, Workspace and/or Factset
- Strong academic background, analytical aptitude, and problem-solving abilities
