In this exciting chapter of continued growth and expansion for Chase, we are looking for a passionate Operational Risk Manager to join our second line of deference function.
As an Operational Risk Management Lead within our Risk Management department you will be responsible for the independent oversight and challenge of risk management practices for select Chase Products and Functions (e.g. Operations). You will be part of a diverse and dynamic team of risk professionals who are at the heart of building Chase in Europe, proactively engaging with business stakeholders and promoting a strong operational risk management culture.
Job Responsibilities

  • Represent Operational Risk in business working groups, assessing the risk impact of new business initiatives and change management, influencing risk-based decisions, challenging the proposed control environment, and recommending approval (or not) of the initiative
  • Conduct deep-dive reviews of areas of emerging risk to identify issues for the business to remediate, documenting outcomes and sharing results with stakeholders
  • Plan and execute targeted monitoring activities leveraging data analytics to identify negative trends and potential control gaps, and oversee the execution of combined Operational Risk and Compliance testing activities
  • Review operational risk events to assess and challenge root cause analysis, recurrent themes and remediation, and drive value-added changes
  • Engage with global and regional horizontal risk programs (e.g., Business Resiliency, Third-Party Outsourcing) to ensure that business practices remain in line with firmwide guidance
  • Support the execution of legal entity governance (e.g. operational risk appetite, material risk identification) and engagement in regulatory deliverables (e.g. ECB, BaFin, OCC)
  • Prepare and present materials for regional and global forums to promote business awareness of the outcomes of Operational Risk activities


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Extensive knowledge of operational risks associated with Retail Banking products and operations, obtained in functions such as Risk, Compliance, Audit and/or Control Management
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Self-motivated, driven and inquisitive
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnerships with senior business stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills, including data analytics, and proven ability to identify potential control issues and process improvements


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Digital products experience and relevant regulatory knowledge
