Job Description: VMware NSX – Expert Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled VMware NSX Network Virtualization Engineer to design, implement, optimize, and support advanced network virtualization solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in VMware NSX technologies, strong network engineering fundamentals, and proven experience managing secure, scalable, and high‑performance virtualized network environments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deployment & Configuration

• Install, configure, and maintain VMware NSX environments.
• Design and implement end‑to‑end network virtualization solutions using NSX technologies.
• Integrate vSphere and related VMware products with existing infrastructure.
• Deploy logical switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and other NSX components according to best practices.

1. Management & Monitoring

• Monitor and manage the NSX ecosystem to ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance.
• Conduct periodic system audits, performance reviews, and environment health checks.
• Implement and maintain backup, restoration, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Manage micro‑segmentation, traffic policies, and network segmentation strategies.

1. Troubleshooting & Support

• Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to network virtualization, connectivity, performance, and security.
• Perform extensive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with VMware and Dell EMC support for escalated issue resolution.
• Provide technical guidance to internal IT teams and stakeholders.

1. Security & Compliance

• Design and implement security controls such as firewall rules, VPN configurations, and IDS/IPS policies within NSX.
• Perform regular security assessments, vulnerability reviews, and compliance checks.
• Enforce adherence to organizational security standards and regulatory requirements.

1. Documentation & Training

• Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration templates, and SOPs.
• Train IT teams on NSX features, functionality, and best practices.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, VMware updates, and industry trends.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in network engineering with a strong focus on VMware NSX technologies.
• Prior experience in a senior or lead engineering role is highly preferred.
• In‑depth knowledge of:
• VMware NSX‑V / NSX‑T
• vSphere, vCenter, and related virtualization products
• Network virtualization technologies such as VXLAN, Distributed Firewall (DFW), and NSX‑T Data Center
• Strong understanding of routing & switching, including Cisco ACI.
• Hands‑on experience implementing firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security technologies.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools such as VMware vRealize Network Insight, SolarWinds, etc.
• Excellent troubleshooting, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and performance optimization skills.
