As a Network Engineer, the Networks tower manages globally the life cycle, delivery, quality and performance of the Wide Area Network, the internet connections, network management, Firewall, Security, (W)LAN, DNS/DHCP and all other aspects of connectivity for Nokia Networks offices and partners. Support the digital transformation and the use of cloud services. Responsible for IT service management handling Incident management, Problem management, Change management for all IT network technologies. Work on technical design, functionality, configuration, performance and quality of connectivity. This is a position in network service delivery for enabling reliable service delivery for IT network services.
Responsibilities- Follow troubleshooting mechanisms stated in SOPs and suggest corrective action or capture logs
- Work in 24x7 support model and provide required shift handover
- Create incident ticket for device alerts for non-auto-ticketing alerts, triage and escalate
- Execute low critical service requests based on the SOPs
- Own incident ticket resolution end-to-end and co-ordinations
- Coordinate with cross-functional technology technical team to resolve the incident
- Track intermediate issue until its closure working with multiple stakeholder
- Follow the problem mgmt. process to get the root cause and problem task closure
- Engage WAN service provider/Vendor/TAC to troubleshoot the issue and escalate to get is resolved
- Additional duties as required and possible remote implementation assistance on special projects
- Helping in ticket management and reporting task
- Hands & eye support co-ordination and vendor dispatch
Must-Have:
- Bachelor's degree or engineering degree in Telecommunications/Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent
- Good understanding of network technologies: TCP/IP, VRRP, DNS, ARP, STP, Trunking, Port Channeling, VRF, IPsec, and TLS
- Familiar with routing protocols such as OSPF, ISIS, BGP, Route Policy, QoS, VRRP, Multicast, LDP, and MPLS
- Knowledge in all network productions router, switches and Firewall..etc
- Must have a strong understanding on the basics of network communication like TCP/IP
- Sound knowledge of IP addressing, DHCP & DNS, various routing & switching protocols like OSPF, BGP, VRRP, STP etc.
- Sound knowledge of various WAN connectivity models like SDWAN, MPLS, Point to Point etc, wireless communications and its components like access points and controllers
- Sound knowledge of security protocols and concepts like IPsec, SSL VPN, ACL, NAT etc, at least one of the public cloud concepts from Azure, GCP, AWS etc.
- Must have an anything automate attitude & the required skillset to understand the technical requirements and develop network automation for various deployments and strong presentation skill in documenting the high-level and low-level network design
- Ability to provide an operational support for the deployed solutions and administer incidents, problems, service requests and changes in line with ITIL practices
- Ability to coordinate with cross-functional technical team & stake holder management in getting our tasks achieved and engage with Customers, Partners, Vendors & service provider wherever needed
