Job Purpose:

The Global Network Team manages and supports the Fugro Global Network. All Fugro offices, vessels, and remote operations are fully dependent on the network and connectivity. Services in the network are: WAN, Wifi, LAN, and Remote access.

The network Engineer delivers the necessary IT technical and functional expertise to manage, support, and improve all components of the network services, together with local IT teams and vessel IT teams (OTS). These services are supported 24/7 by Global Network Team members of all regions, but also by standby services during weekends and nights.

Key Responsibilities:
•Works as part of the Global Network team (NOC) to manage the Fugro global WAN, LAN, WIFI and remote access service.
•Collaborates with the global OT Services team and peers in other regions to exchange knowledge and lessons learned and establish standards and best practices.
•Works with the regional IT teams and the global OT Services team on the introduction of new systems and solutions.
Process and Operations
•Is an expert on Juniper Firewalls, Extreme Wifi and Cisco Catalyst switching, besides being able to support Ivanti remote access and Versa SDwan.
•Monitors availability of global network services on vessels and offices
•Solves incidents, problems and implements changes.
•Works for all regions during office hours in his/her timezone.
•Has periodic standby duty, during nights and weekends.
•Works according to ITIL ITSM processes.
•Improve Technical landscape.
•Participates in projects to implement new global network services in offices and on vessels as per new or updated IT standard architectures/designs.
•Carries out testing and evaluation of existing connectivity solutions and remote operations systems and applications.
•Improves (use of) network, connectivity and infrastructure monitoring solutions. Document systems. Maintenance and continuous improvement of documentation and procedures.

•Creates/maintains high-level and detailed IT systems, network and connectivity schematics Grow Team.
•Exchanges knowledge and lessons learned with peers in team and other regions. Support alignment.
•Is part of global network team to support all networks globally.
•Follows the Fugro Standard Operating Procedures with regards to incident, problem and change management.

Essential Qualifications:
•Education: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
•Working experience: 5-8 years in Juniper Firewalls, and Cisco Catalyst switching
•Experience working in networking infrastructure support. A good understanding network technology.
•License/ certification/ qualification- Juniper and Cisco Certification at CCNA level or equivalent. Or willingness to certify within a short period.

•Pro-active, dynamic, dedicated and responsible self-starter with strong customer orientation and multi-tasking capabilities;
•Possess the ability to appropriately prioritize and plan complex work in a rapidly changing environment;
•Good critical thinker with problem solving aptitude;
•Strong conceptual and analytical skills - demonstrating outside-the-box problem solving skills;
•Experience in working in a global/regional environment;
•Willingness to travel if required. Part of the onboarding process will be a one-month training in the Netherlands.

Responsible for ensuring safety of self and others at site. Prevent damage of equipment and assets Responsible for following all safety signs/procedures/ safe working practices Responsible for using appropriate PPE’s Responsible for participating in mock drills. Entitled to refuse any to undertake any activity considered unsafe. Responsible for filling up of hazard observation card, wherever hazard has been noticed at site. Responsible for safe housekeeping of his work place. To stop any operation that is deemed unsafe To be able to operate fire extinguisher in case of fire To report an incident as soon as possible to immediate supervisor and HSE manager To complete HSE trainings as instructed to do so.
