Team: The Sustainable Fixed Income (SFI) team is a rapid growth business responsible for developing and bringing ESG products to multi-national corporations and financial institutions with a focus on the debt capital markets. Our services include green/social/sustainability bond second-party opinions, annual compliance reviews, and other services that help our clients to provide sustainability insights to investors and lenders. Sustainalytics has been recognized as the largest external reviewer of green bonds by Environmental Finance and the Climate Bonds Initiative for several consecutive years. Role: The Manager will lead the execution and delivery of second-party opinions and annual reviews across various industries and project areas. The role will engage with underwriters and issuers, namely, corporations, development banks, sovereigns and municipalities, to support the development of credible sustainability bond frameworks. The role also entails managing and training a team of researchers to provide credible opinions in line with evolving market expectations and industry standards. The position has a regional emphasis on helping clients from Americas and EMEA, alongside other regions, as required and shall work in the UK shift (1430 to 2330 hours IST).
Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research, analysis, and rating based on research methodologies focused on environmental and social aspects;
  • Use research methodologies to prepare deliverables;
  • Summarize key findings of the research in insightful views;
  • Deliver on individual and team targets, including production and quality;
  • Provide inputs and ideas for new collection methods and product improvements;
  • Manage and develop a team of analysts to deliver high quality deliverables and insights.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Sustainable Finance / Sustainability / Environment / Climate change / Development / Social science / Debt markets; Masters degree preferred;
  • 8-12 years years of relevant experience, preferably in sustainable finance or sustainability / ESG research space, experience in debt markets/credit ratings with an interest in sustainable finance is also welcomed;
  • Excellent English oral and writing skills;
  • Strong research skills and ability to synthesize external data and insights;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Good writing capabilities;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Meticulous, attentive to detail, client-centric, and innovative;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel;
  • Commercial and client-centric approach;
  • Alignment with Sustainalytics' mission, vision, and values.
