As part of the APAC procurement organization, you will take ownership of category management for level 2/3 categories across multiple site locations, divisions, and groups. Your role will involve developing and implementing sourcing strategies, negotiating agreements, and fostering strategic supplier relationships. By successfully implementing these strategies, you will contribute to year over year savings and drive continuous improvement.

Scale of Responsibilities

  • Manage category initiatives/programs across multiple sites in India, focusing on key category performance indicators such as savings and supplier rationalization.

  • Lead the execution of 3 to 5-year sourcing strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and category management goals.

  • Develop global sourcing strategies and identify preferred suppliers that meet key business needs.

  • Communicate key initiatives, updates, and value delivery through effective presentations and communication plans.

  • Perform analysis to identify value and develop implementation plans for projects.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership in sourcing strategies and champion the use of structured Category Management processes.

  • Develop 3 to 5-year sourcing strategies, considering diversity, sustainability, risk assessment, and business continuity.

  • Monitor market intelligence and trends to refine category plans.

  • Collaborate with division/site procurement teams to qualify preferred suppliers and improve supplier performance.

  • Lead the supplier qualification, selection, implementation, compliance, and ongoing management process.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Drive adoption of regional EMS sourcing strategies and promote cross-team collaboration.

  • Champion the use of eSourcing, Spend Visibility, and P2P tools.

  • Gather business requirements for category strategy development and maintain communication with internal partners.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to align category sourcing activities with common goals and priorities.

To excel in this position, candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field, or equivalent experience. A Master's degree is a plus. Moreover, a minimum of 7 years of procurement/sourcing experience in a large matrixed company environment, with at least 3 years of demonstrated experience in managing EMS suppliers, is required. Strong leadership, negotiation, and presentation abilities are crucial, along with a solid understanding of strategic sourcing and category management processes.
