We are looking for a Manager - Site Reliability Engineering to supplement and strengthen the Production Management leadership team of LCH LTD. This role demands an initiative-taking and hands-on leader with deep technical expertise and strong strategic thinking. You will be responsible for ensuring stability, resilience, and performance of our production systems while driving continuous improvement and SRE best practices across the platform.

Key Responsibilities

1. SRE Transformation Leadership
  • Lead enterprise‑wide adoption of SRE principles (SLIs, SLOs, Error Budgets) within offshore and globally distributed teams.
  • Drive the transition from reactive, ticket support to proactive reliability engineering.
  • Embed reliability governance across IBSs & non-IBSs.
2. Offshore Operational Leadership
  • Provide senior offshore leadership for 24x7* production services, acting as a reliability authority for supported platforms.
  • Partner closely with onshore Production Management and SRE leadership.
  • Ensure offshore delivery consistently meets availability, resilience, and regulatory expectations.
3. Operational Transformation (On‑Prem to Cloud)
  • Lead operational transformation activities aligned to on‑prem to cloud migration initiatives.
  • Define and implement cloud reliability and operability guardrails (AWS preferred).
  • Ensure offshore teams are cloud‑operationally ready and scalable.
4. Toil Reduction & Automation Strategy
  • Identify, quantify, and prioritise operational toil across offshore services.
  • Be responsible for an automation‑first strategy to eliminate repetitive manual work.
  • Drive engineering‑led automation using scripting, orchestration, and infrastructure‑as‑code approaches.
5. Reliability & Resilience Engineering
  • Improve service resilience through availability engineering, capacityplanning, and failure preparedness.
  • Lead reliability reviews for business‑critical Tier‑1 services.
  • Champion proactive resilience testing and failure‑mode analysis.
6. Incident & Problem Management
  • Act as senior Incident Commander / critical issue authority for major production incidents.
  • Establish and maintain robust Incident and Problem Management frameworks aligned to SRE practices.
  • Drive RCA quality, learning outcomes, and sustained repeat‑incident reduction.
7. Change & Production Readiness
  • Improve Change Management effectiveness, reducing change failure rate.
  • Embed production readiness and operability checks into delivery pipelines.
  • Partner with engineering teams to improve deployment safety and predictability.
8. Observability & Monitoring
  • Drive observability maturity across offshore‑supported services:
    • Metrics, logs, traces
    • Golden Signals
  • Standardise monitoring, alerting, and signal‑based operations.
9. Technical Debt & Simplification
  • Prioritise service simplification and technical debt reduction initiatives.
  • Maintain transparency into operational risk caused by technical debt.
  • Drive thematic remediation across application and infrastructure layers.
10. People, Culture & Capability
  • Build and develop high‑performing offshore SRE talent.
  • Promote a culture of ownership, blameless post‑incident learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor senior engineers and leads within the offshore organisation.

EDUCATION

  • Degree educated or equivalent work experience

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Essential
  • Must have 18+ years’ experience in Technology Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, or Production Engineering within large‑scale, complex environments.
  • Proven experience leading offshore or globally distributed production teams.
  • Demonstrated success implementing SRE practices at scale (SLIs, SLOs, Error Budgets).
  • Strong track record transforming traditional ITIL‑based support models into SRE operating models.
  • Deep expertise in Incident, Problem, and Change Management, including major incident leadership.
  • Proven ability to reduce operational toil through automation and engineering‑led solutions.
  • Hands‑on experience supporting services through on‑prem to cloud migration.
  • Strong customer management skills across onshore, offshore, and senior engineering leadership.
Desirable
  • Experience working in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with enterprise‑scale observability platforms (e.g. Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus).
  • Experience supporting critical, 24x7 production systems.

Additional skills and experience

  • 18+ years in Production Support / SRE roles with at least 7 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Deep technical expertise in Oracle database - fixing, scalability, performance tuning and optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing SRE frameworks – including SLOs, SLIs, incident management, and chaos engineering.
  • Experience leading teams supporting systems deployed across mixed infrastructure (Cloud and On-Premises, AWS preferred)
  • Consistent track record of delivering automation at scale, reducing toil, and eliminating manual operational tasks.
  • Excellent communication and customer management skills, particularly under pressure.
  • Expertise in automation (Python, Shell, PowerShell etc.)
  • Experience working with both Windows and Unix operating systems
  • Experience managing toil, defining and reducing it via automation.
  • Strong understanding of organisational change, risk posture, and production readiness.
  • Very strong understanding of and experience in Incident Management and Problem Management process
  • Proven track record of understanding and working within very complex infrastructure landscape
  • Experience in implementation of Chaos Engineering principles and activities
  • Great working knowledge of Disaster Recovery processes and procedures in the industry with strong focus on High Availability, Critical systems
  • Ability to break down complex technical issues into easy to digest format
