The Opportunity

This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives.   As a global leader in diabetes care, Abbott is constantly working to deliver the highest quality products and unwavering support to our customers.  Consistent and accurate glucose monitoring is the foundation of any diabetes management plan, so we’re committed to continuous improvement in the way patients and professionals measure, track and analyze glucose levels.

As Manager Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), you will manage the consolidation of financial planning and reporting processes for ADC. You will provide leadership, oversight, coordination, and planning, to execute the financial planning processes and ensure timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of financial information. This role has high levels of visibility to executive management.

The main functions of this position include (1) coordination of ADC’s P&L financial planning activities including the compilation, analysis, and distribution of management review packages, (2) ownership / development of in-depth analytics around gross margin and foreign currency exchange, (3) preparation and consolidation of monthly and quarterly executive presentation materials, and (4) being the liaison between ADC’s Division Headquarters, various ADC financial teams around the world, and Corporate Finance functions such as Tax.

The Manager, FP&A is responsible for providing analytics, explanations of key performance drivers, management presentations, and business support to enable informed decision making by executive management at the ADC, Medical Device and Corporate levels.

This is an onsite opportunity in Alameda, CA.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Prepare key management reports emphasizing historical results, budgets, forecasts, and trends, presented to Senior Divisional leaders.
  • Create and present slides for senior leadership summarizing key business activities that support the financial planning and reporting processes.
  • Perform actual to budget variance analysis while highlighting risks & opportunities to plan.
  • Develop flexible, comprehensive tools and templates to support the consolidation and timely completion of corporate schedules.
  • Implement system solutions and process improvements that meet the needs of the financial planning and reporting requirements.
  • Proactively develop and present analytics to drive financial and operational excellence across all areas.
  • Coach and mentor staff through performance management, engagement and recruiting.
  • Lead, coach and develop one staff member.
  • Operates with a significant amount of autonomy, focuses on delegation to staff to aid their development, and proactively navigates the division network to accomplish goals/tasks.
  • Ad hoc requests from management (Division & Corporate functions including Tax, Treasury, Audit, Investor Relations etc.)
  • Ensure adherence to Abbott accounting policies and procedures (CFMs) and Sarbanes Oxley requirements. 

Education and Experience You'll Bring
Required

  • BS or BA in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years financial analysis experience, and 2 plus years supervisory experience. Financial experience at country level a plus.
  • Ability to plan, implement, and administer financial information and control systems.
  • Knowledge of the principles, processes and standards for integrated financial analysis and reporting.
  • Highly proficient in Excel.

Preferred

  • BA, CPA/CMA preferred

The base pay for this position is

$112,000.00 – $224,000.00
