Job Description:

Russell’s Technology is looking for an exceptional application developer manager to deliver highly scalable services and world-class product experiences. You will have opportunities to work on multiple layers of the technology stack, ranging from customer-focused user experience, greenfield middle-tier services, and intelligent data solutions. You will collaborate with team members and other development teams at Russell to build full stack applications and services that wow users. You excel in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, agile software development environment. You will learn and incorporate Russell IT standards, tooling, and practices while working to improve Russell’s software code quality, performance, and delivery. 

Years of Experience

  • 12+ years of Software Development experience required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related engineering field required. Advanced degree preferred.

Special Requirements

  • Good to have prior experience of working in Finance domain (Investment bank, Asset Management firm, Hedge Fund).
  • Good to have exposure to large scale distributed applications.

Responsibilities

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Collaborate with project managers, product owners, and other stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure successful project execution.
  • Monitor and track project progress, identifying and addressing potential risks or issues.

Client and Stakeholder Interaction:

  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand their requirements and expectations.
  • Ensure that technical solutions align with client needs and expectations.

Resource Management:

  • Allocate resources efficiently based on project requirements and team members' skillsets.
  • Balance workloads among team members and adjust as needed to meet project deadlines.
  • Work with HR to recruit and onboard new team members as necessary.

Task Assignment and Tracking:

  • Work with project managers to break down project requirements into actionable tasks.
  • Assign tasks to team members based on their strengths and expertise.
  • Track progress and address any roadblocks or issues promptly.

Mentorship and Coaching:

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
  • Help team members develop their technical skills and grow in their roles.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one sessions to discuss career development and address concerns.

Technical Oversight:

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team.
  • Review and analyze system architecture, proposing improvements or adjustments when necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and relevant technologies.

Problem Solving:

  • Act as a technical escalation point for complex issues or challenges faced by the development team.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.

Software Development:

  • Write high-quality, maintainable code that adheres to coding standards and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain software applications, features, and components.
  • Debug and fix software defects, performance issues, and other technical problems.
  • Design and implement software solutions that meet project requirements.

Architecture and Design:

  • Participate in the architectural and system design of software projects.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance in designing scalable and efficient software solutions.
  • Review and contribute to the design decisions made by the development team.

Code Reviews:

  • Conduct regular code reviews to ensure code quality, identify bugs, and mentor team members.
  • Provide constructive feedback on coding practices and suggest improvements.

Candidate Requirements

  • Full stack developer working on .net web development stack.
  • Prior experience of manging team of size 4-6 members
  • Experience collaborating with multiple teams, including business unit teams, to deliver solutions through all aspects of the SDLC required
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • Experience with Git version control preferred
  • High proficiency with full stack development skills including UI, web, middle-tier, and database required
  • Act as a primary contact for users to address development questions and concerns
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies required
  • Proven ability to stay current with emerging technologies as well as with new applications of existing technologies through work experience, academics, or self-study required
  • Ability to thrive in a matrix environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
  • Excels at dealing with ambiguity.
