Responsibilities- Craft and enhance mainframe applications using programming languages including COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
- Analyze and resolve bugs and performance issues in existing systems.
- Collaborate with team members to understand functional specifications and translate them into technical designs.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to best practices.
- Create comprehensive documentation for all applications and processes.
- Continuously seek ways to optimize performance and improve system functionalities.
- Engage in ongoing learning to stay up-to-date with mainframe technologies and contemporary software development practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8+ years experience in mainframe development, particularly with COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot software issues effectively.
- Experience in working with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices is a plus.
- Proficient with mainframe tools and technologies.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
