As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Finance Reporting Infrastructure (FRI) team, you will have the opportunity to design and implement the next generation buildout of a cloud native financial reporting analytics platform for JPMC. We aim to provide comprehensive solutions to meet the analytical needs of our finance controllers and meet our regulatory reporting obligations. You will be part of a program that includes the development and enhancement of variance analysis, drilldown, automated variance explains generation, thresholds, and trend analysis. This role offers you the chance to push the boundaries of what's possible in financial reporting.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Spending a large percentage of time in promoting development, working closely with business / stakeholders to produce high quality code in a test-promoting environment
- Working with a team of engineers and developers to ensure that the Finance Reporting platform is engineered to be standardized, optimized, available, reliable, consistent, accessible and secure to support business and technology needs
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
- Hands on experience in Java, J2EE, Spring, Springboot, Micro-Services, & React
- Proficiency PL/SQL and Database development.
- Strong knowledge of AWS and CI/CD Pipeline with strong focus on TDD
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Excellent Engineering skills in designing and implementing scalable solutions
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Practical cloud native experience
