WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

In this position, you will:

  • Research, develop, and apply appropriate forward-facing, future-oriented technologies to nVent’s growing Thermal software portfolio.

  • Provide technical mentoring, coaching, and leadership to software developers, software operations engineers, and other technical staff working on a range of different projects.

  • Research and develop technology strategies to enable sustainable, extensible, scalable systems that meet business goals and objectives.

  • Work in a highly collaborative, agile, and global team environment to develop, deliver, and sustain high quality industry leading digital solutions.

  • Lead by example, collaborating with peers, team members, and stakeholders to research, stablish, and advance software development practices to generate efficiencies, enable code re-use, and promote SOLID software designs.

  • Assist in building and growing a team of software developers, software operations engineers, and other technical staff.

YOU HAVE:

  • Degree or higher in Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.

  • Seven (7) years or more experience working on complex software projects applying industry best practices in all areas of the Software Development Lifecycle.

  • Three (3) years or more experience making architectural decisions for software applications, projects, or commercial software products.

  • Desire to build, advance, and grow the skills of a team of software developers through coaching and mentoring.

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders, from end users to executives.

  • Ability to rapidly learn and evaluate complex technologies from an architectural point of view.

  • Ability to rapidly learn, apply, and train others in the use of complex and emerging technologies.

  • Ability to demonstrate experience with C#, Java, Python, or comparable object-oriented programming language.

  • Demonstrated conceptual knowledge of and practical experience with cloud technologies, micro-services, RESTful APIs, IaaS, TDD, DevOps, CI/CD, and software automation.

  • Experience developing front-end user interfaces, user interface components, as well as experience using front-end UI frameworks (REACT, ANGULAR).

  • Ability to effectively document and communicate technical information, strategies, plans, and vision statements verbally and using technical reports, presentation, and informal channels.
