Nielsen's Data Science organization has an opportunity available for a Senior Data Scientist II. The ideal candidate must have expertise in leading the research and development of analytic solutions with a focus on mathematical modeling, statistical methods, and machine learning processes. The candidate would also have the capacity to work in an agile development environment alongside software engineers, and a solid foundation in developing solutions for marketing, and advertising organizations.
Responsibilities
- Use and fit different statistical and econometric models to create prototypes for marketing effectiveness solutions.
- Research, design and implement analytic and mathematical approaches and algorithms to build scalable best of class web-based analytical solutions
- Design, write and test modules for Nielsen analytics platforms using Python, R, SQL, Spark, and AWS products
- Utilize advanced computational/statistics libraries including Spark MLlib, Scikit-learn, SciPy and StatsModels
- Document and present methodology inside and outside the company
- Design and prioritize work for smaller teams
- Mentor newly hired associates
PhD or Masters degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering or Related field
10+ yrs experience in working in Statistical Analysis and/or Data Science
Expertise with Bayesian and Frequentist statistics, econometric models, and/or supervised learning models.
Expertise in Python, Spark, SQL or other modern programming languages
Experience in using machine learning libraries and techniques
Proficient in writing production grade code using scientific computing packages (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-learn)
Experience in code management, docker, and CI/CD pipelines
Experience with NumPyro is a plus
Well-organized and capable of leading multiple mission-critical projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Attention to detail – quality, and accuracy in all work and interactions
Quick learner with a logical mindset and analytical thinking who is passionate about technology
Experience in short-release life-cycle (agile processes including scrum)
