Experience Range: 9–12 years
Role Overview:
The Lead Data Engineer drives technical execution and provides leadership to Senior Engineers and QA Engineers. This role ensures engineering excellence, performs design/code reviews, and supports the Principal Engineer in delivering scalable, secure, and reliable data pipelines for enterprise-level data platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead development of Spark-based data pipelines and transformation workflows
• Mentor Senior Engineers and enforce engineering standards and patterns
• Conduct design and code reviews for performance, quality, and maintainability
• Collaborate with TPM and Product Owners to plan sprints and manage delivery milestones
• Troubleshoot complex data engineering issues and drive RCA
• Translate architectural direction into actionable engineering tasks
Required Skills:
• 9–12 years of Data Engineering experience
• Strong Spark (Scala/Python/Java) and Hadoop/Object Storage expertise
• Advanced SQL across Oracle, Netezza, Hive, or similar platforms
• Proven ability to mentor and lead engineering teams in Agile environments
• Strong analytical and communication skills
