Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, implement and maintain our core Oracle applications for all the Protera Customers and play a Consultant Role for any Oracle DB requirement.
    • Maintain our SQL / PLSQL processes.
    • Ensure DB availability.
    • Proactively manage and maintain security standards and controls.
    • Actively seek to optimize and simplify the DB architecture for our customers.
    • Take ownership of performance and capacity monitoring aspects of the DB.
    • Execution of data migration jobs and scripts as required.
    • Assist the infrastructure team in sizing hardware used for the DB.
    • Support and collaborate with product developers at the customer side .
    • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of disaster recovery plans.
    • Create a reliable backup strategy on CommVault or any other Backup Tool. Ensure database backups are appropriate.
    • executed and periodic restorations are exercised to ensure backup quality.
    • Determine and document DB policies, procedures and standards.
    • Performance testing and evaluation to ensure data security, privacy and
    • integrity. Identification of bottle necks and deadlock issues.
    • Ensure SLA's & operational KPI’s are met, working as necessary with internal
    • and external support functions when major incidents occur.
    • Automation skills to automate mundane DBA processes.
    • Database Migration knowledge on any Cloud is preferred.
    • Knowledge on Oracle Exadata will be an added advantage.
    • Oracle management tools (Data Guard, RMAN, Data pump).
    • Database Partitioning
    • Architecture design principles
    • Good problem solver, focused and excellent communication skills to interact with our customers with ability to work on your own as well as with a team
    • Hands on experience with DB standards and end user applications-translating capacity requirements into infrastructure deployment technology.
    • Must be a self-starter with a strong attention to detail.
    • Must be ready to work in a 24*7 setup which may include night shifts as per the customer requirement .

Nice to have:

  • Certifications in database administration & DB management.
  • Works well with teams or in a team environment, with the ability to work independently as an individual contributor.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server, NO-SQL DB, SAP-Hana,DB2, MYSQL ,Postgres Database is an added advantage as the Protera DB team supports multiple database environments for many customers.

Other Qualification :

  • Mandatory experience: 4 years or higher strong technical experience in Oracle database Administration services for platforms.
  • Bachelors degree in an IT-related field or higher.
  • Excellent communication skills in English - verbal and written.
  • Strong presentation/communication/facilitation skills (oral and written) .
  • Ready to work in rotational shifts as per customers requirements.
  • Must be able to work as an individual contributor.
