The Junior Commercial Counsel will draft and negotiate commercial agreements, advise on deal structure, manage contracts, and collaborate with global legal teams.
ROLE OVERVIEW
- Numerator is seeking a Junior Commercial Counsel to support our growing business, including our Worldpanel by Numerator operations. This role will serve as the a strong legal partner for commercial transactions across APAC markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Junior Commercial Counsel shall be responsible for the following duties and obligations:
- Draft, review, and negotiate client-facing commercial agreements, including master service agreements, data licensing agreements, subscription agreements, order forms, and statements of work for APAC markets.
- Advise regional sales and business development teams on deal structure, contract risk, and commercial terms.
- Identify and escalate legal risks in commercial transactions, with practical recommendations for resolution.
- Develop and maintain regional contract templates and playbooks to support self-service and deal velocity.
- Manage contracts through Salesforce and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with the global legal team on cross-border transactions, compliance initiatives, and process improvements.
- Support other legal team projects and initiatives as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- The successful candidate shall possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Law degree from a recognized university.
- 2 - 3 years of experience in commercial/transactional legal work, either in-house or at a law firm; technology, data, or SaaS experience preferred.
- Experience with APAC commercial markets or cross-border transactions in the region is highly valued.
- Working knowledge of data protection and privacy laws across key APAC jurisdictions.
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Fluent in English with the ability to conduct business, draft, and negotiate contracts in English.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
- Proficiency in Korean or Bahasa Indonesia; any additional APAC market language is also valued.
- Self-starter who can manage a portfolio of deals with appropriate guidance, while knowing when to escalate.
- Proficiency with Google Suite, Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and collaboration tools; experience managing contracts in Salesforce is a plus.
- Experience in the data, research, or consumer insights industry.
