Job Description:

The Jira Specialist is an experienced administrator and automation expert who enjoys innovation and developing solutions to better make use of Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence

Years of Experience

5-10 years

Candidate Requirements

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience with hands-on expertise with the Atlassian product suite (Jira, Confluence, Service Desk, and others) and supporting 3rd party add-ons (Structure, Insight, Zephyr, etc.)
  • Solid experience in enabling enterprise-level processes using Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with configuring and supporting integration using development tools on Jira
  • Experience managing reports on Jira and supported reporting applications
  • Experience in using/extending REST API Services provided by Atlassian
  • Experience creating JIRA templates, custom issues and workflows, custom forms and attributes

Responsibilities

  • User Management
    • Create, edit, and manage user accounts.
    • Assign roles and permissions to users based on their responsibilities.
    • Set up groups for easier management of permissions.
  • Project Creation and Configuration
    • Create new projects and customize their settings according to team requirements.
    • Configure issue types, fields, workflows, and screens.
    • Manage project permissions to control access to project information.
  • Workflow Management
    • Design and customize workflows to reflect team processes.
    • Implement automation rules using Jira automation to streamline repetitive tasks.
    • Monitor and optimize workflows for efficiency and productivity.
    • Integration and Add-ons.
    • Troubleshoot add-ons from the Atlassian Marketplace to extend Jira's functionality.
    • Configure and manage integrations (webhooks & API) to ensure smooth data flow between systems.
  • Security and Compliance
    • Enforce access controls and permissions to maintain data integrity at Project and Environment level.
  • Standardization and Performance Optimization
    • Monitor system performance and diagnose issues.
    • Implement standardization and best practices to improve overall performance.
  • User Support and Training
    • Provide ad-hoc support to users and teams on Jira functionalities and best practices.
    • Conduct ad-hoc training sessions and one-off workshops when requested
    • Develop documentation and resources for self-service assistance. Confluence and service desk FAQ integration.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery
    • Set up regular backups to prevent data loss.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Gather feedback from users and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement.
    • Stay updated with new features and updates from Atlassian.
    • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance Jira usage and adoption.
