The Work You'll Do:
At Sovos, we deliver enterprise-grade solutions that power global tax compliance for some of the world’s largest organizations. As an Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting system-to-system integrations between Sovos platforms, client ERPs, and third-party applications.
This role is highly client-facing and integration-focused. You will act as the technical owner of integration projects, leading requirement gathering, solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. Collaboration with clients, internal product teams, and external integration partners is central to ensuring seamless and reliable integrations.
More specifically, you will:
- Lead end-to-end integration projects, serving as the primary technical point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
- Gather and analyze business and technical requirements from clients, translating these into effective integration designs.
- Design and implement API-based integrations (REST/SOAP) between Sovos platforms and client ERP systems.
- Provide technical guidance and support during integration onboarding, user acceptance testing (UAT), and after go-live in post-production environments.
- Coordinate with client teams and third-party integration partners to ensure timely project delivery and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration, data, and system issues across different environments.
- Validate data flows, mappings, and transformations between source and target systems to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Author and maintain integration design documents, interface specifications, and support documentation to support knowledge sharing and ongoing operations.
- Collaborate with internal engineering, QA, DBAs, and product teams to deliver reliable integration solutions.
- Support production integrations, including monitoring, incident analysis, and identifying and resolving root causes of issues.
- Ensure integrations adhere to security, compliance, and performance standards as required by Sovos and its clients.
What We Need From You
- 5+ years of experience in system integration, middleware, or enterprise application integration roles.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
- Solid hands-on experience with REST and SOAP APIs, covering authentication, error handling, and retries.
- Strong knowledge of system architecture, data flows, and integration patterns.
- Experience with JSON, XML, and data mapping/transformation techniques.
- Working experience with SQL Server and T-SQL for data validation and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with .NET / C# or similar backend technologies used for integration development.
- Experience coordinating with clients and external integration partners to achieve project goals.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience working in Agile or structured delivery environments.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred) is considered a plus.
