Manages and supports enterprise data center infrastructure, including VMware virtualization, networking, firewalls, servers, storage, backups, and monitoring. Performs troubleshooting, root cause analysis, patching, upgrades, security and change-management activities, documentation, disaster recovery exercises, and L2/L3 incident support. Coordinates with vendors, participates in maintenance and rotational on-call shifts, and helps maintain high availability, performance, and security of mission-critical systems.
We are looking for a skilled Infrastructure & Data Center Engineer with retail industry experience to manage and support enterprise IT infrastructure, including data centre operations, virtualization, networking, firewalls, and server infrastructure. The ideal candidate should possess strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience in maintaining high availability, security, and performance of mission-critical IT systems.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Data Center infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- Administer VMware virtualization environments, including provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of virtual machines.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure, including Layer 2/Layer 3 switches and routers.
- Administer and support enterprise firewalls, implementing security policies, VPNs, NAT, ACLs, and access controls.
- Monitor infrastructure health using enterprise monitoring tools and proactively resolve performance issues.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for infrastructure incidents and implement preventive measures.
- Support server hardware, storage, and backup infrastructure.
- Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, and patch management of infrastructure components.
- Coordinate with OEMs and third-party vendors for hardware replacement and issue resolution.
- Ensure adherence to IT security standards, change management, and operational procedures.
- Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, asset inventory, and SOPs.
- Participate in disaster recovery (DR) drills, backup validation, and business continuity activities.
- Provide L2/L3 technical support for infrastructure-related incidents and service requests.
- Participate in planned maintenance activities and after-hours support when required.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in working with retail industry
- Experience working in enterprise Data Center environments.
- Good understanding of ITIL Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and documentation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle critical incidents.
