Job Description
You belong to the top echelon of talent in your field. At one of the world's most iconic financial institutions, where infrastructure is of paramount importance, you can play a pivotal role.
As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope.
Job responsibilities

  • Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications
  • Resolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation path
  • Executes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problems
  • Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications
  • Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses
  • Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications
  • Accountable for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments
  • Strong knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)
  • Drives to develop infrastructure engineering knowledge of additional domains, data fluency, and automation knowledge
  • Demonstrate extensive expertise in one or more areas of infrastructure engineering, such as hardware, networking, databases, storage, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, performance, or security assessments.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of a specific infrastructure technology and proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell Scripting, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Understand cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies, with the ability to operate in and migrate across both public and private clouds.
  • Exhibit proficiency in multiple infrastructure technologies with the operational skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Hands on experience in capacity management, resiliency, and business continuity planning and execution.
  • Has the ability utilize tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or any other monitoring tools.
  • Demonstrates strong proficiency in testing tools such as Selenium or any other automation testing tool.


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Leverage experience working in financial institutions, with a background in DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering.
  • Demonstrate proven ability to manage multiple service improvement programs and effectively prioritize workloads.
  • Apply familiarity with multi-tiered application architecture and a successful track record in developing and implementing IT strategies and plans.
  • Utilize familiarity with agile development methodologies and development tools such as JIRA, GIT, and Bitbucket.
