Role Summary:
The Manager HR Generalist plays a pivotal role in fostering a high-performing culture at athenahealth by partnering with various divisions to enhance employee engagement and business performance. This individual will collaborate closely with HR Business Partners and people leaders to implement HR strategies and support talent development initiatives. This position reports to an Executive Director, HR Business Partner.

Team Summary:
The HR Department at athenahealth is dedicated to building a collaborative and engaged workforce that aligns with the company's mission. The team focuses on enhancing employee relations, supporting talent management, and driving initiatives that promote a positive company culture.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for employee matters, providing coaching and conflict resolution support.
  • Offer performance management guidance to line management, including coaching and feedback delivery.
  • Manage employee relations matters, including Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), in partnership with managers.
  • Advocate for employees while balancing organizational needs and providing HR policy guidance.
  • Analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions and support HR Business Partners with data analytics.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners on staffing and workforce planning efforts.
  • Participate in company-wide HR initiatives, including onboarding and diversity programs.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a documentation library of internal processes to improve efficiency.
  • Support internal career growth through targeted career conversations with employees.
  • Recommend new approaches to HR service delivery and assist with implementation.
  • Act as a resource on HR philosophies and practices for business leaders.
  • Collaborate with the broader HRBP team to meet departmental goals.

Expected Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of overall working experience.
  • 2-4 years of HR-related experience preferred.
  • Experience in analyzing and solving complex problems.
  • Proven ability to drive results and meet deadlines independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with HRIS systems or Workday is a plus.
