Job SummaryWe are hiring an experienced Ship Chandler to manage the sourcing, procurement, and delivery of provisions, spare parts, safety equipment, and other essential supplies for vessels at Qatar ports. The candidate should have experience in ship chandling, maritime procurement, port operations, and customs clearance.
- Source and procure ship provisions, spare parts, safety equipment, and technical materials as per vessel requirements.
- Coordinate with ship owners, captains, procurement teams, suppliers, and port authorities.
- Process customer orders, quotations, invoices, billing, and payment follow-ups.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of supplies to vessels.
- Maintain inventory and coordinate with suppliers for stock availability.
- Negotiate prices and terms with vendors to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Coordinate customs clearance, port documentation, and shipment requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Qatar port regulations, customs procedures, and maritime safety standards.
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams for smooth dispatch and delivery.
- Handle customer queries and resolve service-related issues.
- Maintain proper records of procurement, sales, deliveries, and supplier transactions.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement and delivery activities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Maritime Studies, or Business Administration is preferred.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in ship chandling, maritime procurement, marine supply, or related fields.
- Good knowledge of ship supplies, vessel requirements, port operations, and marine logistics.
- Knowledge of Qatar port operations and customs clearance procedures is preferred.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in English is required.
- Knowledge of Arabic, Hindi, or other regional languages will be an advantage.
- Valid Qatar/GCC driving license is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced maritime and logistics environment.
