Purpose of the Job:
The Head of Music Marketing is an experienced and visionary leader responsible for spearheading Red Bull's music marketing vertical within the Culture Marketing team. This role demands a deep understanding of the music industry, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a proven track record in crafting and executing innovative marketing strategies. The Head of Music will drive brand growth, enhance audience engagement, and capitalize on revenue opportunities through strategic initiatives that resonate with both emerging and established audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Market Insights and Research
- Trends Analysis: Collaborate with the Culture Marketing Manager to analyze and interpret music trends across the country, identifying key opportunities for Red Bull’s involvement in the core scene and mainstream awareness.
- Strategic Evaluation: Assess the brand's current positioning in the music landscape, providing insights that inform strategic decisions and help shape impactful contributions to the industry.
- Consumer Behaviour: Conduct regular market research to understand evolving consumer preferences and behaviours in music, ensuring Red Bull remains relevant and influential in the space.
2. Building Brand Presence & Relevance in Music
- Implementation of Business Planning Projects: Lead the execution of key music projects aligned with the BP 2025 strategy, developing comprehensive 360-degree marketing plans to maximize brand visibility and engagement in targeted markets.
- Target Audience Engagement: Leverage EPC insights to craft relatable activations and content launches that resonate with younger target groups, enhancing brand connection and loyalty.
- Agency Collaboration: Identify and partner with key agencies for each project, effectively utilizing their resources and expertise to achieve impactful outcomes and drive brand initiatives.
3. Industry Relationships
- Artist and Industry Engagement: Build and nurture strong relationships with artists and industry stakeholders beyond individual projects, positioning Red Bull as a trusted partner in their creative journeys.
- Primary Point of Contact: Serve as the main liaison for assigned artists, coordinating project timelines, deliverables, and promotional activities while fostering trust and collaboration.
- Strategic Networking: Cultivate relationships with record labels, managers, and key industry influencers to ensure Red Bull is top-of-mind for artists when developing or releasing new music.
- Reputation Building: Establish Red Bull as a go-to brand in the music industry, enhancing our reputation as an innovator and supporter of artistic endeavours.
4. Business Planning and Budget Management
- Annual Business Plan Development: Collaborate with the National Culture Manager to lead and implement an annual music marketing business plan that aligns with Red Bull’s broader marketing goals.
- Budget Preparation and Oversight: Work closely with the marketing team to prepare the annual budget for music projects, ensuring all financial aspects are clearly outlined and agreed upon.
- Project Tracking: Implement robust tracking systems for project and budget management, ensuring timely reporting of any deviations and making necessary adjustments to stay within budget.
- Financial Accountability: Maintain financial discipline by closely monitoring project expenditures and reporting on budget performance to relevant stakeholders.
5. Innovative Marketing Initiatives
- Creative Campaign Development: Conceptualize and launch innovative marketing campaigns that showcase Red Bull’s commitment to music and culture, using a mix of traditional and digital platforms to amplify reach.
- Event Activation: Lead the planning and execution of high-impact music events and activations that engage audiences, strengthen brand loyalty, and enhance community connections.
- Content Creation: Oversee the production of compelling content related to music projects, ensuring alignment with brand standards and strategic objectives.
Qualifications
Education, Qualifications & Experience:
- Recognized Post Graduation Course in Marketing / Music Marketing
- 7-8 years’ work experience preferably in the music marketing business.
- Passionate, Enthusiastic, strong communication and interpersonal skills, must believe and Live the brand.
- Self-starter, fast-paced, ability to multitask, plan ahead
- Analytical-minded and creative
- Music marketing experience, preferably with a label or channel
- Interested in upcoming music trends and keeps up with fast changing consumer behavior (especially among younger audiences)
- Experience in research process management.
