Role:
We are seeking a high-calibre Group Accountant to join the Group Finance team. This role will play a critical part in supporting the monthly close and group consolidation processes for a large, multi-entity international group.
The role offers exposure to global stakeholders, complex accounting areas, and the opportunity to contribute to finance transformation initiatives, including ERP and consolidation system enhancements, as well as external reporting and audit support.
Key Responsibilities:
Month-End Close & Global Coordination
- Support the global month-end close process within agreed timelines.
- Work closely with finance teams across geographies, including India, Romania, Mexico and other locations.
- Ensure strong accounting hygiene and proactively identify and resolve close-related issues.
Controls & Reconciliations
- Strengthen and maintain the group’s internal control framework.
- Document, perform and improve key financial controls.
- Support intercompany reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations.
Group Consolidation
- Support monthly group consolidation for 70+ legal entities across multiple currencies.
- Prepare and post elimination, foreign exchange and consolidation journals.
- Assist in maintaining consolidation structures and hierarchies.
External Reporting
- Support external reporting requirements, including preparation of selected disclosures and analytical support for statutory and group reporting.
Audit Support
- Act as a key point of contact for group and statutory audits, preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor queries in a timely manner.
Process Improvement & Transformation
- Drive standardisation and continuous improvement across group accounting processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy and controls.
- Support finance transformation initiatives, including:
- ERP implementation or enhancement
- Development and optimisation of consolidation systems
- Intercompany process improvements
Ad-hoc Projects
- Support additional finance projects and initiatives as required.
Candidate Specifications
Essential:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or international equivalent (ACA / CIMA).
- 4–7 years post-qualification experience, ideally combining audit and industry exposure.
- Strong hands-on experience with month-end close and group consolidation.
- Experience working in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment.
- Strong understanding of IFRS / Ind AS.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong accounting systems exposure.
Preferred
- Experience with financial ERPs such as SAP or NetSuite.
- Experience with consolidation tools, preferably OneStream (or similar tools like Hyperion / SAP BPC).
- Exposure to complex accounting areas including:
- Business combinations (acquisitions/disposals)
- Revenue recognition
- Share-based payments
- Impairments
- Legal entity rationalization
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including interaction with senior finance leaders and auditors.
- Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment with tight deadlines.
