Below is a job description for the Treasury role in Mumbai, India that balances BAU ownership (daily reporting, bank account administration, controls) with project management and solution-focused initiatives.

Global Senior Treasury Analyst (BAU + Projects) — Mumbai, India

About the Role

We’re looking for a Global Senior Treasury Analyst to own core day-to-day treasury operations while also driving continuous improvement and project-based initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-accountability BAU environment (daily cash reporting, bank account administration, controls) and can also lead solutions that simplify, standardize, and scale treasury processes globally.

You will partner closely with Corporate Treasury, local finance, banks, and cross-functional teams (Accounting/Controllership, AP, Tax, Legal, IT) to ensure treasury operations are accurate, timely, well-controlled, and continuously improving.

Key Responsibilities

1) Daily BAU Ownership (Core Treasury Operations)

  • Daily cash positioning & reporting
    • Prepare and distribute daily cash position (actuals and forecasts), highlighting key movements, exceptions, and risks.
    • Maintain reporting cadence and accuracy across bank accounts, entities, and currencies.
  • Bank account administration
    • Manage bank account lifecycle activities: openings/closures, KYC support, account maintenance, and documentation.
    • Coordinate updates to signers, mandates, and bank portal access administration in alignment with internal controls.
  • Process ownership & controls
    • Own BAU processes end-to-end, ensuring procedures are documented, followed, and audit-ready.
    • Execute recurring controls (reconciliations, access reviews, approvals evidence, attestations) and support internal/external audits.
  • Payments & banking operations oversight
    • Monitor treasury-related payment activity (as applicable), bank file processing, and exception handling.
    • Act as first-line escalation point for banking issues, payment failures, bank rejections, and urgent operational needs.

2) Project Management & Solution-Focused Initiatives

  • Treasury process improvement
    • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, or standardize reporting and workflows (e.g., templates, dashboards, bank data automation).
    • Drive root-cause analysis for recurring issues and implement durable fixes.
  • Banking and technology initiatives
    • Support and/or lead projects such as bank portal harmonization, reporting automation, cash visibility enhancements, and process redesign.
    • Partner with IT and vendors on requirements, testing, UAT, release readiness, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Global standardization support
    • Help implement global standards across entities (bank account governance, signer/access frameworks, reporting routines, documentation norms).
    • Contribute to global playbooks and training materials that enable consistent execution across regions.

3) Stakeholder Partnership & Communication

  • Build strong relationships with Corporate Treasury and local finance to align on cash visibility, funding needs, and operational priorities.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for banks on operational topics (documentation, reporting formats, issue resolution).
  • Communicate clearly and proactively—provide concise updates, highlight risks early, and recommend solutions.

What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)

  • Daily cash reporting is reliable, timely, and trusted; exceptions are clearly explained and actioned.
  • Bank account administration is disciplined and audit-ready (complete documentation, clean access and signer governance).
  • BAU processes are documented, controlled, and resilient (minimal single points of failure).
  • At least 2–3 measurable improvements delivered (e.g., faster reporting, fewer manual steps, fewer recurring bank issues).
  • Strong partnership established across Corporate Treasury, local finance, banks, and IT.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 6–10 years of experience in treasury operations, cash management, banking operations, or a related finance function.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Daily cash positioning and cash movement analysis
    • Bank account administration (open/close/maintain; KYC; signers; online banking access)
    • Controls, documentation, and audit support
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, structured data handling); comfort working with large datasets.
  • Proven ability to drive tasks to closure in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting or implementing treasury solutions (TMS, bank reporting tools, host-to-host/SWIFT connectivity, data automation).
  • Familiarity with controls frameworks and evidence practices (e.g., access reviews, approvals, segregation of duties).
  • Experience in a multinational environment with multiple legal entities and currencies.
  • Strong interest in automation and analytics.

Skills & Attributes (What We’re Looking For)

  • Operational excellence: consistently accurate, disciplined, and detail-oriented.
  • Ownership mindset: sees problems through end-to-end; doesn’t drop the baton.
  • Solution orientation: doesn’t just report issues—proposes fixes and executes them.
  • Project execution: can manage timelines, dependencies, and stakeholders without heavy supervision.
  • Clear communicator: concise updates; escalates early; strong written documentation.
  • Controls-aware: understands how to operate in a controlled environment with strong governance.

Working Model / Hours

  • Mumbai-based.
  • Will coordinate with global stakeholders; flexibility to support occasional meetings outside standard hours.

Why This Role

  • High visibility and impact: this role directly improves cash visibility, banking governance, and treasury operating strength.
  • Strong blend of BAU + projects: you’ll own core operations and actively build better ways of working.
  • Global partnership: collaborate with Corporate Treasury and cross-functional teams in a multinational environment.
