As a Global AT Operations Excellence (AT OE) Space Efficiency Senior Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will play a critical role in driving network-wide Space Efficiency performance through close collaboration with multiple manufacturing sites and cross functional partners. This position is responsible for improving Micron’s Network Space Efficiency Programs while embedding an Operations Excellence mindset across the Backend Manufacturing organization.
The role requires strong expertise in factory layout design management, factory physics foundational knowledge, advanced data analytics, and structured problem solving to identify gaps, analyze root causes, and translate insights into actionable improvement initiatives. You and your team will guide network site teams by leading Space optimization–focused continuous improvement projects, aligning business processes, and standardizing methodologies and metrics across the network.
You will facilitate regular performance reviews with site stakeholders, steward the development and governance of existing processes and new methodologies, and establish a clear roadmap for metric standardization and methodology blueprinting. This role also serves as a key driver for high impact analytical projects and best-known method (BKM) deployment aligned with Micron’s Space Efficiency strategy.
Responsibilities
Lead and prioritize global peer groups to agree on the plan and schedule for reaching area objectives. Ensure the plan and schedule to boost progress in critical performance areas. Clearly outline the timeline to fulfill these demands. Track alignment decisions and hold responsible for those who stray from the agreed plan or direction.
Collaborate with KEG on future technology requirements and model of record requirements to ensure that New TOR tools roadmap is feasible not only to green field sites but also to the brown field sites.
Interface with corporate EHSS and site Process Hazard Analysis engineers to ensure safety requirements are met.
Interface with Sites partners in establishing and aligning consistent practices of adoption on business processes to meet Space Efficiency requirements.
Collaborate with Facilities, Automation, KEG, planning and equipment teams, site stakeholders in the designing of both green field and brown field sites in factory layout design optimization to attain the best Space efficiency.
Drive network standardization of metrics, measurement scope and definitions, methodologies, business processes, and modeling to ensure consistent adoption across backend manufacturing sites.
Design, develop, and maintain measurement metrics, reports, tools, enablers, and methodologies to enable accurate performance measurement and effective improvement of actions.
Conduct deep dive analysis from CAD layouts, providing recommendations or solutions to space creation and space optimization.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Minimum 2 Years of recent Semiconductor experience specifically focused on layout design and planning in Industrial Engineering.
Direct experience with Green Field factory layout design and proven track record or improving production tool space density
Knowledgeable and has experience in Autodesk AutoCAD or equivalent software
Proven capability of dealing with complexity and the ability to utilize resources effectively to bring clarity to require actions.
Demonstrated the ability to solve problems across multi-functional groups, both within and outside the department.
A curious, analytical mindset and willingness to learn new tools and techniques.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and align cross functional stakeholders.
Exceptional customer focus and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
Practical knowledge in data analysis and structured problem-solving methodologies.
Ability to independently utilize existing tools and templates to address complex situations with minimal guidance.
