Primary Job Function:

The FP&A Manager in our Established Pharmaceutical Division Operations (EPO) will be responsible for accounting and financial planning & analysis with respect to manufacturing plants within EPD manufacturing network across regions.  The role will help complete monthly flash reports, RLBEs, Plans, Standards Development, and "What If" analysis to support the day-to-day and strategic plans for the group. Furthermore, assure that financial reporting are in line with Division requirements and implement process improvements to financial process/reporting where required.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Support FP&A Manager Global Operations on consolidation of worldwide manufacturing sites financials within the EPD operations scope as well as in preparing financial reports to senior leadership and corporation.
  • Preparation/coordination of forecast cycles timelines as well as streamlining the format across all regions to provide accurate financial data, overviews, and reports as base to various stakeholders in EPD Operations organization.
  • Attend financial reviews and understand/support EPD Operations Plan and RLBEs (Rolling Latest Best Estimate) to contribute to the growth business. This includes detailed analysis and review of financial data submissions of Plan/RLBE packages from manufacturing sites. Furthermore, clarifications with stakeholders as required and supporting documentation and reporting.
  • Act as liaison to support FP&A Manager Global Operations at consolidation of EPD Operations financial month end closure. By reviewing and understanding drivers of manufacturing operating variances versus Plan/RLBE forecast by analyzing monthly Flash submission of EPD manufacturing sites across regions.
  • Work with EPO Organization to ensure compliance to published Abbott policies and procedures, provide support in preparations of balance sheet reviews and internal audits. Obtain required management approval for any deviations from Abbott internal policies
  • Cost Analysis: Review and consolidate as required with detailed costing analysis on a standard and net cost basis
  • Provide financial support on the development and execution of the Established Pharmaceutical Operations’ strategies including capital project financial analysis, plant rationalization analysis, sourcing analysis, etc. Process includes analyzing the key business drivers/issues and providing management with the appropriate financial information to support the business
  • Provide support to EPO controllers of designated affiliates in achieving their targets. Act as an informational resource by accumulating best practice/procedural guidance from Division contacts and other Affiliates
  • Implementation of Process Improvement in Financial Processes within EPD Operations
  • Support FP&A Manager Global Operations on ad hoc projects which impact EPD Operations.

Position Accountability/Scope:

Scope is primer support for EPO with a manufacturing gross spend of $2.5 Billion

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Accounting/Controlling focus. Degree in Business, Finance or other business study is acceptable with accounting or controlling experience.

Minimum Experience/Training Required:

  • Two to three years of cost accounting plus 1-2 years of general accounting or financial reporting
  • Understanding the operational impact of financial decisions and the financial impact of operational decisions
  • Knowledge of product cost standard and a familiarity with standard cost variance analysis is needed.
  • Understanding the impact of foreign exchange on material transfers and standards
  • Able to work in a multicultural environment
  • Excellent command of English is essential, any other languages would be an asset
