The Workday FINS (Financials) Data Consultant is responsible for leading and executing data-related activities within Workday Financials implementations. This role focuses on data conversion strategy, approach & planning, data analysis, data mapping, transformation, validation, and conversion to ensure accurate and seamless migration of financial data into Workday. The consultant collaborates closely with functional finance teams, technical teams, and project leadership to deliver high-quality data solutions that support core financial processes such as accounting, suppliers, customers, assets, expenses, and financial reporting across multiple accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end data conversion workstreams for Workday Financials.
- Conduct data profiling, collation, transformation, mapping, and reconciliation.
- Develop and maintain data templates, mapping documents, and conversion strategies.
- Partner with functional consultants to understand financial processes and data requirements.
- Execute data loads using Workday EIB, and other integration tools.
- Perform conversion smoke tests and liaise with client stakeholders to secure data conversion sign off.
- Troubleshoot data issues and perform data validation and reconciliation.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, quality standards, and project timelines.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial transaction processes
- Hands-on experience with Workday Financials data conversion.
- Strong understanding of financial data structures (e.g., general ledger balances, suppliers, customers, open AP & AR invoices, assets and leases).
- Proficient in Excel, SQL, and data transformation tools.
- Familiarity with Workday EIB, Core Connectors is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
- Accountancy degree or qualification.
