Financial Crimes Team at Lead

The Financial Crimes team safeguards Lead, its partners, and the broader financial system from illicit activity. They own Lead’s BSA/AML, sanctions, and fraud programs, collaborate with the Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to detect threats and strengthen controls, and interface with regulators. Ensuring that all parties involved meet the highest standards of financial integrity is foundational to the company’s success. Role Description:

The Financial Crimes Analyst II independently manages assigned monitoring and oversight activities for third party partners. This role performs partner testing, risk reviews, enhanced due diligence, and ongoing program management while serving as a knowledgeable point of contact for assigned partners.

The Analyst II is expected to recognize trends, identify control gaps, communicate findings clearly, and recommend appropriate escalation or remediation.

In this role you will:

  • Independently manage ongoing program management activities for assigned third party partners.

  • Conduct partner onboarding risk reviews, periodic testing, enhanced due diligence, annual document refreshes, and risk assessments.

  • Review partner policies, procedures, AML/CFT documentation, audit materials, training records, and monitoring results.

  • Evaluate alerts, unusual activity referrals, sanctions screening reports, fraud metrics, AML metrics, CIP/KYC testing, and related partner data.

  • Conduct portfolio reviews to identify recurring issues, emerging risks, product trends, and control weaknesses.

  • Serve as a subject matter resource to partner compliance teams and internal stakeholders.

  • Prepare written findings, management summaries, testing results, and remediation recommendations.

  • Participate in and facilitate partner meetings and ongoing program management discussions.

  • Escalate significant deficiencies, unexplained activity, overdue remediation, or other matters requiring management attention.

  • Contribute to process improvements, training materials, and team knowledge sharing.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in banking BSA/AML, fintech compliance, payments risk, fraud investigations, partner oversight, or a related field.

  • Experience reviewing financial crime programs, policies, procedures, risk assessments, or testing results.

  • Working knowledge of BSA/AML, CIP/KYC, EDD, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity reporting concepts.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external fintech partners.

  • Ability to work autonomously while exercising sound judgment and escalating appropriately.

  • Experience with BaaS, embedded finance, payments, lending, cards, or digital asset products is preferred.

  • CAMS, CAFP, CFE, or another relevant certification is preferred.

**Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on geographical market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. These ranges may be modified in the future.

 

Zone 1: $89,000 - $105,000 (SF/Bay Area, NYC, Seattle)

Zone 2: $73,000 - $86,000 (Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, Denver, Boston, Washington DC, San Diego, Philadelphia, Portland, Sacramento, Miami)

Zone 3: $71,000 - $83,000 (Other US Metros)
