Business Unit Finance
The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting in preparation of analysis of the organization's financial results. This job participates in creating financial modeling and provides insights into the company's financial status, including cash flow, accounts receivable, accounts payable, debt, equity, operating income, and working capital. Under close supervision, this job's analysis and modeling is used by senior management to inform business and financial decisions. This job also measures and forecasts potential impacts of financial transactions and corporate development activities.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Compiles financial data and quantitative analysis, in order to support sound and defensible recommendations.
- Reviews and conducts simple analysis of basic financial planning information and reports, to make recommendations to management.
- Supports month end close process by reviewing recurring/standard and ad hoc reports, researching basic general ledger activities and variances to budget and prior year.
- Assists in audit activities and the development of financial plans by identifying financial outcomes.
- Updates financial database by identifying sources of information and entering, verifying, and securing data.
- Assists in the preparation of financial presentations using a variety of formats, displays, reproduction of charts, graphs, and econometric models.
- Supports the development of budgets and quarterly forecasts to ensure timely and accurate delivery to management.
