Role and Responsibilities:
Inspect raw materials, semi-finished parts, and final thread-cut components as per job card and engineering requirements.
Verify thread dimensions using API & Premium thread gauges, ring/plug gauges, profile gauges, micrometers, pitch micrometers, and other precision instruments.
Check thread profile, taper, lead, pitch diameter, stand-off, and thread crest/root as per specifications.
Read and interpret drawings, thread charts, and API & Premium standards related to threading.
Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections for all thread-cut jobs.
Record inspection findings, maintain documentation, and generate NCRs for non-conforming parts.
Coordinate with machinists and supervisors to resolve thread-related deviations immediately.
Ensure all measuring instruments and gauges used for thread inspection are calibrated and in valid status.
Monitor and verify surface finish, chamfers, thread runout, and overall dimensional accuracy.
Maintain proper traceability of inspected components and follow company quality procedures.
Support continuous improvement activities in threading processes and shop-floor quality practices.
Ensure compliance with API/ISO/Premium thread standards and maintain a safe, clean inspection area.
Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment
Minimum Qualification/Skills:
1–3 years of relevant experience in the oil field or related industry.
- Strong understanding of ISO and API standards.
- Knowledge on tools and equipment related to oil and gas Industry.
- Understanding quality aspects and pre/postproduction inspection of tools.
- Knowledge Awareness on API Q1, ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
Management Representative, Quality Assurance specialist
Maintain and improve the QMS in line with API Q1 / ISO 9001 and other applicable standards.
Experience in handling API audits, customer audits and compliance documentation.
Ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
Monitor departmental objectives, quality objectives and KPI performance.
Conduct management review meetings and prepare MIS reports, and follow up on action items
Liaise with certification bodies, customers, and regulatory agencies.
Lead internal audit programs, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions to enhance operational effectiveness.
Ensure process compliance and documentation control.
Support training and awareness programs related to quality systems.
Manage customer quality requirements and complaints.
Support remote and on-site supplier quality assessments, vendor evaluations, and supplier qualification processes.
Knowledge of API 5B, API 7-1, and API 7-2 or any premium threading standards will be considered an advantage
QualificationsExperience: 5–7 years minimum
Educational Qualification: B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Experience in Manufacturing/Engineering / API Q1 Std. / Oil & Gas environment with internal auditor certification. Familiarity with QMS procedures, QMS implementation, manual formats and audit documentation.
Exposure to API Q1, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and other relevant standards
