Weatherford is seeking an Engineering Partner Lead to manage external engineering partners supporting product development programs. This role will ensure vendor deliverables are achieved on time, within budget, and aligned with Weatherford’s technical and quality standards.


The Role
The Engineering Partner Lead will act as the primary interface between Weatherford and external engineering partners. You will oversee engineering governance across multiple development projects, ensuring vendors deliver against scope, timelines, and technical requirements while coordinating closely with internal engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.


Key Responsibilities
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for external engineering partners and vendors.
    • Manage engineering governance across multiple development projects.
    • Review project plans and partner deliverables to ensure alignment with Weatherford requirements.
    • Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain stakeholders.
    • Manage performance of 6–12 engineering partners delivering product development work.
    • Track key project KPIs including on-time delivery, cost performance, and time-to-market.
    • Support product development activities including testing, validation, and regulatory compliance.
    • Identify risks and drive mitigation plans to ensure successful program delivery.


Experience & Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
    • 8+ years of experience, including 3+ years managing engineering partners or vendors.
    • Hands-on exposure to hardware development projects.
    • Experience managing engineering governance and cross-functional programs.
    • Background in electronics or electrical engineering preferred.
    • Experience working with vendors on product design or testing programs.
    • Familiarity with hardware systems, PCBs, or FPGA-based technologies advantageous.
    • Understanding of the product development lifecycle from concept to production.
    • Knowledge of testing requirements, regulatory standards, and RoHS compliance desirable.
    • Ability to travel as required.
