Job Summary:Responsible for the execution and supervision of all mechanical activities related to Module Mounting Structure (MMS) erection and solar module installation in utility-scale solar EPC projects. Ensure that the work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design, quality standards, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:1. Planning & Coordination:Interpret mechanical drawings and specifications related to MMS and module installation.
Plan daily and weekly execution activities for MMS erection and module mounting.
Coordinate with project, civil, and electrical teams to ensure smooth workflow.
Ensure availability of manpower, tools, and machinery for daily work.
2. MMS Erection:Supervise installation of Module Mounting Structures including:
Foundation interface (pile, RCC, or ballast-based)
MMS assembly and alignment (fixed tilt or tracker systems)
Torque and structural integrity checks
Ensure MMS installation is done as per design and layout.
3. Module Installation:Oversee safe and correct installation of modules onto MMS.
Ensure string layout, tilt angle, inter-row spacing, and mounting hardware usage as per design.
Monitor torque settings for fasteners and clamps.
Prevent module damage during handling and installation.
4. Quality Assurance:Conduct quality checks for structure alignment, plumbness, and module placement.
Maintain QA/QC documentation – inspection checklists, torque reports, and installation logs.
Coordinate with QA/QC team for inspections and audits.
5. Safety Compliance:Ensure use of proper PPE and safe work practices during installation.
Monitor and enforce safety protocols for working at heights and lifting equipment.
Conduct toolbox talks and daily safety briefings.
Maintain daily progress reports (DPR), manpower records, and work logs.
Report any issues, delays, or material shortages to the project manager.
Assist in preparation of as-built documentation.
