The Role
We are seeking a Design Engineer to join our Completions team in Navi Mumbai. This role will focus on the design and development of electronic systems and components for new and existing products. You will support ongoing product improvements, testing, and troubleshooting, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early to mid-career engineer looking to build technical expertise within a global oilfield services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electronic circuits and systems for new and existing products
- Modify hardware designs and perform testing/qualification activities
- Support manufacturing and repair teams in resolving technical issues
- Develop PCB designs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials
- Build and test prototypes to validate design requirements
- Analyse data to improve system performance and reliability
- Collaborate with software teams on microcontroller design and integration
- Ensure designs meet regulatory and quality standards
- Track project requirements, timelines, and costs
- Support factory acceptance testing and field commissioning activities
- Maintain compliance with Weatherford HSE, Quality, and Management Systems
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 3–6 years’ experience in electronic/system design
- Experience with PCB design and electronic components/systems
- Exposure to tools such as Altium or Siemens EDA preferred
- Experience in oil & gas, drilling, marine, or heavy industry is advantageous
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to manage multiple projects
- Good communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
