We’re seeking someone to join our team as an Director in the Legal and Compliance Division.

In the Legal & Compliance division, we assist the Firm in achieving its business objectives by facilitating and overseeing the Firm’s management of legal, regulatory and franchise risk.

This is a Director level position within the LCD Data and Analytics team.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Provide guidance and thought leadership to end users interested in creating new taxonomies or improving existing ones

  • Manage projects to implement taxonomies including hands-on design and development activities

  • Assist in the management of categories/taxonomies on behalf of the enterprise

  • Design and develop product capabilities including taxonomy management, end-user support processes and change management/governance

  • Participate in NFR and Firmwide working groups and governance bodies in support of taxonomy management objectives, standards development, and best practice adoption Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in library science, information science, computer science or related discipline

  • Experience with relevant taxonomy management tools

What you'll bring to the role:

  • 5+ years of taxonomy management experience in a corporation, government body or relevant organization

  • Demonstrable experience in developing new taxonomies and managing changes to existing ones

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in data management tools and software.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Helpful/Desirable Skills:

  • Strong understanding of financial terminology and data structures.

  • Experience with metadata standards and information architecture.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the Financial services sector.

  • Experience in taxonomy management tools such as Smartlogic, PoolParty, Topbraid

  • Experience in business/data analysis and concept/entity extraction to support taxonomy development

  • Experience in the categorization and use of business data in support of business processes such as risk management, vendor management, financial management or procurement

  • Experience of taxonomy change management and associated governance processes

  • Knowledge of semantic technologies, SKOS modeling and experience using SPARQL

  • Direct experience in the financial services industry or in an information science framework
